“Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism by a special outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which seal or ‘confirm’ the baptized in unison with Christ and equip them for active participation in the worship and apostolic life of the Church” (The Glossary of the Catechism of the Catholic Church). The Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit are: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord.
Adult Confirmation for undergraduate students, graduate students, and adults in the community who have already been Baptized and received First Holy Communion typically takes place in the spring at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross, Boston, MA.
To register for the preparation classes at St. Paul’s, or to find out more information, please email Marianne Deramo, Confirmation Coordinator.
Baptized Catholic adults who have not received either Holy Communion or Confirmation, and who wish to complete the Sacraments of Initiation in the Roman Catholic Church, please visit our new Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) site.
